Portraits on Film

Yousuf Karsh, a famous black-and-white portrait photographer, inspired this work. Like Karsh, the goal was to extract glimpses of the individual's hidden personality. I spoke to my subject as I stood with my camera continuously taking photos to catch even the slightest reaction to our conversation. Every image has been captured on 35 mm film, which I developed and enlarged to successfully produce photos from negatives.
